Book Announcement: “Not Your Mother’s Morals”

I’m delighted to announce the signing of Jonathan D. Fitzgerald, a terrific young writer from Boston. Jonathan is writing a short ebook we’re calling “Not Your Mother’s Morals.” We’re also calling it (internally at least…and on this blog) a pop culture manifesto–a valiant and necessary argument about how a new morality is emerging in the movies and TV shows we watch, books we read, and music we listen to today. Jonathan argues that authenticity and sincerity are core values in popular culture, and the emphasis on those virtues gives rise to positive and uplifting moral messages…for those with ears to hear and eyes to see.

Jonathan teaches writing at Eastern Nazarene College. He is the editor of the whip-smart web mag Patrol and a frequent contributor to Patheos and Soul Pancake (which carried his “Not Your Mother’s Morals” column). He’s written forĀ The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Religion Dispatches, Killing the Buddha, Christianity Today, and more.

I’ll post more about Jonathan’s promising ebook in the coming weeks. In the meantime, follow him, get to know his work, and thank me later.
