Bondfire Books is an independent epublisher based in Colorado and New York City. We publish fiction and nonfiction—both originals and backlist titles—by today’s top writing talent, from established voices to up-and-comers. Our authors are supported at every step of the publishing process: concept-shaping, manuscript editing and improvement, cover-design, and the development of a robust and effective promotional campaign. Every book is a partnership—we share the risk of each book and split the proceeds evenly (a 50/50 revenue split on all ebooks versus the 75/25 industry standard). We work closely with Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple, and other retailers to distribute every title. Bondfire is aligned with a vast network of authors and agents and is establishing a reputation as an exciting, creative, and lucrative place to write.
Our editorial mission is to spark dialogue with timely and timeless ebooks across a range of styles, genres, and lengths. We’re publishing a wide variety of forms, including:
- Journalistic essays
- Inspirational fiction and nonfiction
- How-to guides
- Political and cultural commentary
- Novels, including serialized fiction
Rick Christian – Publisher / Executive Editor
Rick is the founder and CEO of Alive Communications and has been one of the nation’s most prominent and successful literary agents for some 25 years. More than a dozen books represented by Alive have reached the #1 spot on the New York Times bestseller list, with many dozens of titles a year appearing on this and other prestigious lists, including USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly, The Wall Street Journal, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and more. Combined sales of books negotiated by Alive agents exceed 200 million copies, with several dozen of their authors and titles having sold more than one million copies each. Alive Communications and Bondfire Books agents are known by the company they keep. They work with the top authors, publishers, producers and film studios in the United States and around the world, and have earned widespread acclaim as Agents of Change.
A graduate of Stanford University, Rick is a great friend of authors and a leading visionary in the publishing industry. With a life-long passion for words and great writing, he started his career as a newspaper boy in San Diego. Fast-forwarding a few years, he became a newspaper reporter and columnist in California, then moved to the Midwest as a magazine editor, and later circled back West to launch a publishing company, writing several books himself along the way. He discovered his passion as an indefatigable advocate of authors with his launch of Alive Communications in 1989. Bondfire Books is his next Big Thing.
Rick and his wife Debbie have a blended family of seven children and live on a ranch outside of Colorado Springs. He pursues wild things in the mountains in his free time.
